The Medowie Marauders
The Medowie and Districts Rugby Club might be one of the smaller clubs in the Hunter but it certainly isn’t small on their amount of passion for rugby.
Home ground – Boyd Oval is nestled amongst the gumtrees in Medowie and on a misty winter morning it is the perfect backdrop for community rugby.
Medowie prides itself as being an inclusive club, the Executive Committee is proactive and dedicated to providing local boys and girls an encouraging environment to learn and play rugby, and the coaches strongly believe in providing equal opportunities for all juniors.
As any team in the competition will attest, a road trip to Boyd Oval always means you will come up against a strong defensive team who always give their all, and, as their team song suggests they always have each others back.
To wear the Medowie jersey means you are a part of the Marauder family and the Medowie community. Registered players come from Medowie, Williamtown, Tanilba Bay, Raymond Terrace, Swan Bay, Karuah, Tea Gardens, Hawks Nest and Stockton. These local communities, including members of the Williamtown RAAF base, form the basis of a friendly, family-orientated club.
