Meet The Camerons – 3 Hunter Junior Siblings at State Championships

In a rare event, this weekend 3 children from the same family will represent Hunter Junior Wildfires at the State Championships.

Isla, Fraser and Ethan Cameron all head off in different directions to represent the Hunter at the State Championships. Hailing from the Maitland Blacks, the Cameron trio have worked extremely hard and are grateful for the opportunity to represent at this level.

Isla, who plays tight head prop and hooker is off to Hunters Hill in the under 14’s girls, brother Ethan the super fast winger in the under 16’s boys will be at Narrabeen, while Fraser will travel to the snowy fields of Orange to represent in the under 14’s boys in number 7.

Unfortunately this makes it impossible for mum Katrina and dad Greg to watch them all but they couldn’t be prouder. To watch their children work hard and show such commitment to a sport they love and then be chosen to play at a representative level makes for proud parents.

All three have also been selected in NSW Country sides which will thankfully have them playing all in the same location in a few weeks.

Originally encouraged to come and trial the game of rugby by close family friend Ben Emmett, the Camerons fell in love with the game, and especially value the fact that rugby is such an inclusive sport with amazing family and community spirit.  Rugby has had a positive impact on their lives and they have made some wonderful life long friendships.

Hunter Junior Rugby are proud of this great rugby story –  Isla, Fraser, Ethan we wish you all the best of luck for the weekend, enjoy every minute of this experience.
