Under 16’s Girls Country Championships

The girls worked incredibly hard in the lead up to Kiama and we were all really excited and keen to show everyone what we could do. Our campaign preparation hit a couple of snags though, just as we were about to head off, we had a couple of injuries, that resulted in us having a slightly depleted squad heading down.

The girls went into every match with total commitment and were a credit to themselves, their families and Hunter Rugby. They were desperately unlucky not to come away with a win on a couple of occasions, but you know the saying, sometimes the bounce of the ball doesn’t go your way! I was immensely proud and impressed with their attitude and couldn’t fault their effort despite losing a couple more to injuries as the tournament progressed. It has also lit a fire in the belly for State champs and I know the girls will be firing on all cylinders come the June long weekend.

Big congratulations to Charlie Norton and Ryvrr-Lee Alo for making the country team!!
