Brent Dale appointed dedicated Development Officer for the Hunter

We are very excited to announce the appointment of Brent Dale in the role of Development Officer for the Hunter. This appointment will see the juniors, seniors and Wildfires working together to ensure rugby in the Hunter is thriving and sustainable.

Brent brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role both on and off the field. Having travelled and played rugby all around the world and learning from some amazing rugby experts in Europe, New Zealand as well as Australia, we are confident that Brent is the best person for this opportunity and we are thrilled to have him come on board.

Brent is chartered with putting systems and structure in place in the Hunter region to attract new kids to the game and ensure we hold onto them and have them grow into great senior players.

A former Wildfires player himself, Brent understands firsthand the importance of pathways in rugby.

Brent will be liaising closely with schools and clubs in the region to grow rugby in the schools and have the clubs engaged with schools in their area. We want to give every child the opportunity to learn about and play rugby.

He will also work with our Coaches, and encourage them to develop their skills and knowledge to be the best they can be.

Attracting new kids to the game of rugby, creating clear pathways for players, and ensuring they have the quality of coaching and support required will take rugby in the Hunter to a new level.

Brent will have assistance from David Sharpe who has been appointed part-time to focus on the Colts 18, 19’s, 20 age groups and their transition from juniors into seniors which is crucial in not losing players to other sports at that point.

Congratulations Brent and David, we look forward to working with you and can’t wait to get started!
